One of the largest and most important pilot projects in Croatia with the task of combining agricultural irrigation with flood protection has recently been concluded.
The project, which was 80% funded by the EU, on the one hand serves to irrigate and therefore improve the soil in the so-called BIDJ-BOSUT field with the aid of a 14.5 km-long channel, and on the other hand protects against flooding from the adjacent Sava River.
In Jaruge a 12.5 m-high pump inlet building was constructed, which BÜSCH fitted with three XL4 valves of 3000 x 3000 mm and 12.7 m wc as well as with ten 15 m-high stop log frames and four stop log sets of 3000 x 9000 mm.
The BÜSCH valves meet the requirement of absolute, constant watertightness, safely and reliably even at very high pressure of up to 12.7 m wc from the front.
Simple assembly of the large valves went smoothly, which was essential on-time delivery of large projects. BÜSCH supported the project with an on-site service team in order to avoid any potential difficulties.
